The Cancer.Physio story

The Cancer.Physio story was really many years in the making.  It more formally started to take shape in 2016 when Physiotherapy colleagues  Adam Atherton and Elle Woodford began collaboratively and more passionately exploring the research and further studies in relation to Cancer related Physiotherapy and Allied Health Services to assist in their already growing caseload of Cancer Patients seeking Physio care.

Then in 2018 an innovative concept and clinic was officially birthed and branded to provide care and unique services to all people with Cancer and through all stages of the Cancer Journey.

OUR MISSION
Quite simply, our mission is to empower every patient we care for in the journey "from Survive to Thrive" mode.

OUR COMMITMENT
The Cancer.Physio story is your story, your journey, to get your life back with or beyond Cancer.  With us helping alongside to help you thrive again; that is, to restore function, independence and hope. We commit to helping you in any, and every way we can within our scope of practice to make your journey the best it can be with the best possible outcome.

OUR CONFIDENCE
The Cancer journey is such an individual one.  We make no promises on final life outcomes (though recent research in particular relation to "Exercise as medicine" and cancer recurrence rates are encouraging - in the order of 50% reduction for Colo-rectal cancers in one study!).

Whilst some care and patients we see are palliative, we see many patients get their life back and even thrive again.

OUR PASSION
We are addicted to seeing patients move from a defeated, powerless, pain filled existence where so often depression, fear and fatigue have rendered the person functionally incapacitated to a place where they are getting on top of pain and nausea, gaining energy, managing swelling, returning to work, returning to sport and basically returning to life!  This is what we live for!
